Use of Oxybenzone
Oxybenzone is a broad-spectrum UV absorber with high absorption, non-toxicity, no teratogenic effects, good light and heat stability, and it can absorb UV-A and UV-B at the same time. It is the US FDA. Approved Class I sunscreens are widely used in the United States and Europe and are widely used in sunscreen cosmetics such as sunscreens, creams, honeys, lotions, oils, etc., and as anti-tarnish agents for photosensitized and discolored products.
1. Used in plastics, chemical fiber, paint and petroleum products, especially suitable for light transparent products
2. It can be used in paints and various plastic products. It is especially effective for polyvinyl chloride, polyester, acrylic, resin, polystyrene and light-colored furniture. It is also a good cosmetic additive. The dosage is 0.1-0.5%.
4. Benzophenone ultraviolet absorber is an excellent stabilizer for synthetic plastics such as polyethylene, and the dosage is 0.5-1.5%.
5. It can be used in paints, pigments, coatings industry, fine white wax and daily cosmetics.
Using a mixed acid as a catalyst, trichloromethylbenzene and resorcinol are condensed in the aqueous phase to form the intermediate 2,4-dihydroxydiphenyl ketone. Then, under the action of a phase transfer catalyst, dimethyl sulfate is used. Etherification to the desired product UV-9.
